  1. Hi Zaria this poem was very cool and you did especially well with shape and text. I am glad that you are going to write some more like this. The visual had a lot of impact. I wonder if you would record one of your next ones. That way you can show the emphasis and rhythm of what you are writing too. Matua Dave

    1. Hi Matua Dave,

Thank you so your amazing comment! And I did this type of poem because I feel like this is something lots of people feel in their life, but not a lot of people express how they feel or why they feel like that.

Sometimes I just don’t feel like I’m doing my best and that I should work harder to make my parent proud, but occasionally I don’t really want to do what my parents want. Which is why I made this poem, to show that it’s okay to be different, and that you shouldn’t change your self because of someone else.

      Kindest Regards
      Love: Zaria

  2. Kia ora Zaria,
My name is Theresa and I am one of the Summer Learning Journal commenters.

Thank you for sharing this touching poem. It is very heartfelt and deep. I can see you have really thought about the impact of the poem and chosen words that carry the meaning such as ‘reveals and crack a smile’.

Poetry is a great way to express our thoughts and emotions. I would love to hear you read your poem too, if you’d feel comfortable recording yourself! (I know it can be a bit scary).

Look forward to hearing from you!

    1. Hi Theresa,

Thank you so your amazing comment! And I think I’m going to try recording myself saying it because I feel the way you say it just makes the poem that much better to read.

      Kindest Regards
      Love: Zaria

My name is Jamie from Saint Patrick’s School. I really like your poem about not feeling good enough. I have this feeling a lot because I do many activities and wish I had free time but I do! So thank you Zaria for sharing this poem and have you ever felt like you aren’t good enough?

  4. Bula Vinaka Zaria,

This is an amazing poem! I like that you added a broken heart, it really fits the theme of your poem. This seems like such an advanced poem, you did so good. The title and the whole poem and theme is so sad, but they all fit in together.
