Sequoia Forest

The Sequoia Forest is one of the most beautiful places in California, and is a must-see for nature lovers everywhere. I already learned some amazing facts about the place, and now I’m going to share with you.

Number One: The Sequoia National Forest, named for the world’s largest trees, has the greatest concentration of giant sequoia groves in the world. Protected within the Giant Sequoia National Monument, these groves and the areas around them are managed by the U.S. Forest Service.

Number Two: Endangered Species, and Others The national park boasts an extensive variety of wildlife, including 5 types of fish unique to the area, 200 different bird species, and 26 different types of reptiles. There are some endangered species as well, including the California Condor, the Bald Eagle, and the Bighorn Sheep.

Number Three: Unique Growth Methods of the Sequoia One of the factors that contributes to these trees being so resistant to fire and living such fantastically long lives, is the way they grow. While other trees bend or curve, sequoias grow up perfectly vertical.

Number Four: Native American Settlements It’s been proven that Native Americans, such as the Western Deep volcanic rock was forced above the ground by a subduction zone, which created the iconic peaks admired by so many in modern days.

Number Five: Complex Road Systems More than 1,500 miles of intricate road systems exist within this park, and are meticulously maintained. There are also about 1,000 miles of abandoned roads in the area, and 850 dedicated to horseback riding and driving ATVs.

Number Six: John Muir’s Contributions The famed naturalist writer, John Muir, helped the park gain recognition through his talent and written works. He knew that the park was ecologically significant, and aided its development.

Number Seven: The First National Park Founded to Protect a Species Sequoia National Park was formed with the intention of protecting a living organism, which is quite unique in the world of national parks.

I hope you found interesting facts about this park supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and thanks for checking out my blog, and I hope to post more like this soon, and feel free to leave a comment! ;P

About My Culture

I think it’s important for people to celebrate, share and to be proud of their cultures, and that is why I have decided to share my culture with you. My culture is Fiji Indian, so I have decided to tell you all about Fiji today.

Fiji is a lovely island, with many amazing sights to see, things to do and it has great food. Me and my family visit there often, as we have lots of family there. It’s an amazing and beautiful place!

Fiji is not just an island but it’s a country on it’s own. To many people Fiji is just an island or a part of New Zealand. This is because Fiji and New Zealand are both small countries. But Fiji is it’s own country. It has about 540 islets.

Fiji, is made up of many islands. Each one of these is unique and special in it’s own ways. Denarau and Mamanuca Island are two of the best islands in Fiji.

Along with the volcanic tourist attraction Mamanuca Island is also there. It is west of Nadi and south of Yawa Island. The tourist destination is made up of 20 islands. When it is high tide 7 of those islands are submerged.

Mamanuca Island is a volcanic tourist attraction. It is west of Nadi and south of Yawa Island.  The tourist destination is made up of 20 islands, 7 of those islands are submerged underwater at high tide.

Denarau Island is a man-made sanctuary, less than 10 kilometers away from Nadi. Denarau island was built on a former mangrove swamp, and is now a sanctuary for resorts, hotels. Denarau is also home to 6 world-class resorts.

The Islands of Fiji are located in the south-pacific ocean, like the other polynesian islands. Like New Zealand and Australia, Fiji is a part of the continent oceania. The island is filled with tropical beaches, coral gardens and beautiful forests.

Fiji is made up of more than 300 islands. It’s made up of many beautiful, palm-lined beaches and coral reefs with clear lagoons.

Fiji is mostly hot all year around, but in the summer which is in December, it’s super hot. But Fiji does experience some extreme weather between June-October, during that time it’s cyclone season.

The weather in Fiji is always amazing, if sunny skies and cool breezes are what you’re looking for. But when it rains, it’s the perfect weather  to cuddle up and watch a movie. Or better yet go play in the rain. It’s never too hot or too cold in Fiji, it’s just right.

Most of the warmest temperatures are experienced in December. As December is considered summer in Fiji. Fiji’s coldest weather takes place in between June-Oct. Nov-April is the cyclone season. It’s said to be the driest month.

The food in Fiji is good too. Ice-cream tastes so much better when it’s hot. Coconut water is found everywhere and anywhere, for very low prices. Don’t get me started on the seafood, let’s just say it’s all amazing and delicious.

Why Is Language Important?

Language is a vital part of human connection. Although all species have their ways of communicating, humans are the only ones that have mastered cognitive language communication. Language allows us to share our ideas, thoughts, and feelings with others.

It has the power to build societies, but also tear them down. It may seem obvious, but if you’re asking yourself, why is language important? You’ll have to break it down to truly understand why.

Language is what makes us human. It is how people communicate. By learning a language, it means you have mastered a complex system of words, structure, and grammar to effectively communicate with others.

To most people, language comes naturally. We learn how to communicate even before we can talk and as we grow older, we find ways to manipulate language to truly convey what we want to say with words and complex sentences.

Of course, not all communication is through language, but mastering a language certainly helps speed up the process. This is one of the many reasons why language is important.

Language helps us express our feelings and thoughts. This is unique to our species because it is a way to express unique ideas and customs within different cultures and societies. By learning a foreign language, you can understand ideas and thoughts that may be different from your own culture.

You can learn customs and how people interact in a given society. Language helps preserve cultures, but it also allows us to learn about others and spread ideas quickly.

When discussing topics like inclusive language, it’s easy to recognize that language, today, is changing alongside culture. With technology comes trends or different ways of speaking, like how many teenagers or young people use slang when they speak.

When societies become more open-minded and progressive, we start accepting that there are many other ways of speaking language. Many of us know the answer to why language is important, but we often take language for granted or actually don’t think about it. Language is an important life skill, particularly in school and in the workplace.

Language is one of the most important parts of any culture.  It is the way by which people communicate with one another, build relationships, and create a sense of community.  There are roughly 6,500 spoken languages in the world today, and each is unique in a number of ways.

Communication is a core element of any society, and language is an important aspect of that.  As language began to evolve, different cultural communities put together shared understandings through sounds. Over time, these sounds and their infer meanings became commonplace and language was formed.

Intercultural communication is a symbolic process whereby social reality is constructed, maintained, and repCultural identity is heavily dependent on a number of factors including ethnicity, gender, geographic location, religion, language, and so much more.

Culture is defined as a historically transmitted system of symbols, meanings, and norms. Knowing a language automatically authorises someone to identify with others who speak the same language.

This connection is such an important part of cultural exchange. As people with different cultural backgrounds interact, one of the most difficult barriers they face is that of language.

Feeling up for a task? Watching movies or TV in different languages is a great way to start.  If you’re feeling even more motivated, seek out language courses offered in your community.

Check out online learning communities, or download an app like Duolingo to begin your path to broader, more effective, and more personal communication!  What are some ways that you connect with people cross-culturally?

Solving Ratio Problems & Equivalent Ratios

Task description: This week during Maths, we learn how to write ratios based on images – Eg. 4 blue jelly beans to 5 red jelly beans. After we did our maths task about ratios we did a smarties experiment. We used a pack of smarties to show ratios between smarties. I chose to show my ratio as – 2 pink to 3 blues to 5 purples – After we simplified (2:3:5) we finished our lesson and ate the sweets. after that we talked about how to make the ratio bigger we need to times both side by 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9… and so on. Our working out/maths are shown on the images. After that we completed the task, we posted it on our blog. I enjoyed this task very much, and I hope to do more like this soon. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog; thank you for visiting my blog.
