Immersion assembly

Our school had an immersion assembly today, for the first day of term 2. I was super excited so I quickly decided to go to class. From class we walked to the hall in boy – girl lines, or as the teachers say BG lines. Then Mr Burt talked about lots of things, and welcomed us all back to school. After that the interesting stuff started!

Mr Burt also informed us about our theme. Our theme was Art Wroks, so Mr Burt explained it to us. The topic for this term is Art Works. Which obviously has something to do with art. As usual we had our immersion assembly. We got to see all the teams performances and movies and got a look at what they were learning about.

Honestly my favourite one out of the teams was team 5. Each of the teachers had a role to play from a scene from Beauty and the beast. Mrs Stone was a candle, Mrs Ilaoa was a Violin player,  Miss Tipene was the talking Goose, Mr Moran was the Beast, and Mr Wiseman was the Bella.

My favourite out of teacher roles was Mr Moran in his dog costume. My favourite movie was the Team 5 one. Team 5 did an amazing act! It was funny watching Mr Moran and Mr Wiseman dancing and acting together. I hope you enjoyed reading about immersion assembly and my favourite movie/act!

I liked all the movies/acts. They were all interesting and had something different. But if I had to pick a movie/act it would be the act from team 5 as it had a lot of funny moments. I loved all the movies and I am excited for the term and am ready to do loads of learning. I hope you will enjoy my blog posts this term!

I’m very excited for this term and the things that Team 5 will learn because I generally just love art. I look forward to everything that I’ll be creating and doing this term, and I hope you are, too ;P – We also got told that at the end of the term, Team 5 we are having an art exhibition. Which means we will have our art be on display.

Anyway this term Team 5 will be doing plays, making music and doing some fun art. I am really looking forward to doing these things this term. Stay tuned for any of my blog posts about art! <3

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a holiday set aside to honor our mothers. Most all of us owe our mothers so much for all the hard work, love, and patience they showed while raising us. There is nothing quite like the love of a mother. Traditional Gifts Although it’s great to be original and get your mother something special and different, there are always the traditional gifts. Each year the most popular Mother’s Day gifts in the United States include flowers, pampering gifts like pedicures, greeting cards, jewelry, and, of course, taking your mother out to eat on Sunday. The important thing is to remember your mother.

Mother’s Day is a day set aside to express love, respect and thanks to mothers. The day is observed by giving gifts, visiting, or taking mothers out for dinner and celebrations. Many other countries of the world celebrate their own Mother’s Day at different times throughout the year. Mother’s Day is a holiday that honors mothers. It is celebrated on the second Sunday in May in many countries throughout the world. Festivals honoring mothers and mother goddesses can be traced back to ancient times. Mother’s Day is a special day when we can celebrate the special people in our lives. They can be your mother, sister, cousin, grandma, aunt, a family friend or even a teacher.

Different countries celebrate Mother’s Day at different times, for example, the United Kingdom celebrates it on the fourth Sunday of Lent, Norway on the second Sunday of February, and Egypt the first day of Spring. The Philippines and Japan celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May.

Various forms of Mother’s Day have been celebrated by different societies throughout the history of the world. The official holiday in the United States, however, began with a lady named Ann Jarvis in 1868. Ann tried to establish a Mother’s Friendship Day after the Civil War. She wasn’t successful during her lifetime, however her daughter Anna Marie Jarvis began to work on a Mother’s Day holiday after Ann died.

In 1910 Anna Marie got the state of West Virginia to declare Mother’s Day an official holiday. The rest of the nation soon followed and in 1914 it was declared a national holiday by President Woodrow Wilson. Since then Mother’s Day has become one of the most popular holidays of the year.

How do you celebrate Mother’s Day? Do you make breakfast in bed for your mum, or give her a card or gifts? Although these are common things to do in Australia today, mothers have been celebrated in many different ways for a very long time. In ancient times, thousands of years ago, many cultures would celebrate a mother goddess whom they thought of as the mother of everyone.

In ancient Egypt, Isis was worshipped as a mother goddess and in Greece they worshipped a goddess named Rhea. Festivals to celebrate mother goddesses were usually held in Spring because it represents new life and fertility. An example of one such celebration was the Roman festival of Hilaria that honoured the mother goddess Cybele. In many places around the world, Mother’s Day is still celebrated in Spring, but in Australia we celebrate it in Autumn.

The Mother’s Day holiday in the United States was started by Anna Jarvis. She wanted to honor her mother, whose dream it was to have a day that celebrated mothers. On May 10, 1908, the first official observance of Mother’s Day was held at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia. (The church is now known as the International Mother’s Day Shrine.) Within five years, almost every state was observing the day. In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson made it a national holiday.

My First Day At Hogwarts

One remarkable morning I was on the train that had just stopped. I was told to get off the train and line up ready to be taken into our new school, Hogwarts, also known as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I was worried and nervous but I just continued walking to the boat with all the other witches and wizards that were going to Hogwarts. Finally we were taken into Hogwarts. It was noisy and everybody was so excited, I was glad because I knew that I would make some new friends at this school.

After a little while, we entered a place that was over flooded with frogs and soon the canoe was surrounded by frogs. I couldn’t see anything but luckily, Hagrid put a spell on the canoe to make it roll itself. After we got out of that place safely, we saw a huge building, it resembled a castle. I wonder what it would look like on the inside. I was very thrilled so were all the other witches and wizards on the canoe around  me.

We finally entered the school called Hogwarts. Everybody was so content with joy and excitement. I had butterflies in my stomach, I was so nervous. We walked up the stairs which took a bit of time since there were multiple stairs and multiple people. Some people got turned into another direction on the way up but after we ended up in the same spot.

We walked up the two last stairs which was easily done, we looked up and we saw a lady who was going to show us to our classes. She gave us a great welcome to the school and she reminded us where to go which was very nice of them. I was so happy, I didn’t even get to my first class but I knew that I’ll have a brilliant day today.

After a little while I met a nice person who was also lost like me so we decided to walk together. We read the map together and got to know each other, and I learned her name was Hermione Granger. She asked me what my name was and I said I’m Harry Potter, she looked shocked and said “you mean the famous Harry Potter, who’s parents died”, and I said “Yes” sadly. By the time we finished talking, we found out how to read the map which was a really hard job since we didn’t learn how to control our magic yet. The directions on our map were different but I’m in the same area as Hermione but mine was math and Hermione’s class was magic.

Off I went to our classes which was boring since I had nobody to talk to because Hermione took the stairs and I just took the elevator. But it was ok because after a few minutes I did meet Hermione again at the door because our classes were right next to each other. After that our teachers came so I had to go to my class and Hermione had to go to her class. Hogwarts was going to be a great school. I was so happy I decided to go to  Hogwarts, because I knew it was going to be a good year.

Shrek’s About Me

Halo viewers, and welcome to my blog. My name is Shrek, I am peaceful and don’t care to hurt anyone, but just want to live in solitude and be left alone.

Shrek" | Salon.com

I’m alway accompanied by Donkey, an excitable and hyperactive talking donkey, AKA my best friend. I am energetic, warm, and passionate, I also have a contagious enthusiasm.

I am an anti-social and highly-territorial green ogre who loves the solitude of my swamp. My life is continuously interrupted by a vast number of fairy-tale creatures, but I enjoy the company.

I know a lot of tricks but my favourite power/skill is superhuman strength and superhuman reflexes. I enjoy eating, and taking long mud baths in fresh mud out of the ground.

A goal I have set for myself is to make more friends and to get an environment suiting my nature. Another thing I really want to do is to make my wife, Princess Fiona the happiest woman on earth.

Task description: This week during cybersmart we had to make an about me for shrek. I enjoyed this task very much and I hope to do more like this soon. After that I completed the task, I posted it on my blog. Please leave a comment; thank you for visiting my blog. BYEEE! ;P

Immersion Assembly

Our school had an immersion assembly today, for the first day of term 2. I was super excited so I quickly decided to go to class. From class we walked to the hall, Mr Burt told about us about our theme. Our theme was We know the way, so Mr Burt explained it to us. He talked about lots of things, and welcomed us all back to school. After that the interesting stuff started!

Team 1 teachers presented their movie that they worked hard on during the holidays. In this movie they were told to look up look down look left, right and look all around. The movie started with Pt England School teachers dressed up in beekeeper clothes. As the movie started the bee keepers were searching for a bee to follow. The two bee keepers looked around for a bee to watch , then all of a sudden one of the bee keeper found a bee, and told her friend they should follow it. While they were following the bee, the bee spotted the bee keeper in the conner of it’s eyes, and scared them away, and that’s where the movie ended. So team 1 was going to work on learning about bees and directions.

Team 2’s movie was about pirates. In this movie they were told to look up look down look left, right and look all around. The movie started and it looked like the pirates were play swords, and then they saw the captain sleeping and decided to play a prank on her. After that the captain woke up and told as about the map. It was very amusing!

Team 3’s movie was about a normal boring day into a battle of quiz questions about scratch and coding, the Pt England school students against the Team 3 teachers. It started out by Mrs Carruthers the host of the quiz; Miss Scanlan and Miss Dwyer the competitor, and the Pt England students competition. Afterward Mrs Carruthers stared to ask one person from each group to aswner questions, after all of that, the winner was Pt ENgland students.

The next video was from team 4, and they played a movie on the tv. Which was about a student named Sarah who was new student at pt england school. Miss tumahai was the teacher at the gate. She gave Sarah a ipad that lead her around the school. Sarah found a QR code and scanded it using her ipad. The ipad stared played a video talking about where to go. The video lead her to all around the school and then to her class, which lead me to believe, team 4 are learning about QR codes this term.

Team 5 did and act instead of a movie. Mr wiseman was telling a story about two students with opposite personality, named Rachalle and latina at school. Rachalle was silly and crazy and Latina was the oppsite. Latina and Rachalle had a robot that looked like humans. but they weren’t humans. They had to control their own robot, which Latina was good at, but rachalle wasn’t. Their robots wouldn’t even flinch abit. They pure water on them, they tickled them, they scared them, but they didn’t flinch at all. At the end of the show Rachalle was sad because she couldn’t control the robot, but Latina showed rachalle how to control a robot, and Rachalle was so happy and that got them good grades. Team 5 are going to be learning about using descriptive language.

I liked all the movies they were all interesting and had something different. But if I had to pick a movie it would be the movie from team 5 as it had a lot of funny moments. I loved all the movies and I am excited for the term and am ready to do loads of learning. I hope you will enjoy my blog posts this term!
