Women’s Rights Protest

Tip: Click the spacebar to move from page to page

Task description: This term year 7 & 8 extension group have been working on Scratch projects. The scratch projects had to be about a protest of our choice, but it had to have happened in NZ. I decided to base my Scratch project on the Women’s Rights Movement, also called Women’s Liberation Movement – If you don’t know what that is you can join me on a short journey to learn about the Women’s Right Movement.

At the beginning of the year, Mrs Burton, also known as our Extension Teacher, gave a choice to pick any protest we wanted to make a scratch project on. If you’ve seen the title, the protest I chose was ” The Women’s Right Movement.

The reason behind why I chose to do my project on this protest is because I think that people all over the world should know about the Women’s Rights protest. If it wasn’t for the Women’s Rights protest all the famous women in the world would not be who they are today, that’s why I am here to share with you what I have learned from this activity.

Mrs Burton thought it would be fun for us to learn a little about New Zealand history. Protests have happened in New Zealand for many, many years – And of course not all of them were successful but that’s okay because failure is success in progress.

After some research I have found that 46 protests have been held in New Zealand, and there could be more but I have only found 46. I would love to know if there are more, so if you know of some I may have missed, let me know.

Planning this was very hard especially knowing I had to show both viewpoints, but I worked hard to try and show that. I’m hoping you can see both sides of the protest, and if not, I would love feedback on how I can improve for next time. This Project is really fun because I got to create amazing drawings in Scratch, and share them with you.

Here is my Extension Project! I enjoyed this task very much, and I hope to do more like this soon. Hope you enjoyed it. Please leave a comment; thank you for visiting my blog. And I love to hear some feedback from you guys. Ka Kite Ano, have a lovely day!
