Word Problems

Task description: This week during Maths, we are learning to find the appropriate strategy to solve each word problem. We were also looking at solving problems that involve multiplication and division and using equations to express a problem. We have learnt so much about word problems that for today’s task we had to create our own set of slides where we had to write and answer word problems given to us by our teacher. I finished those questions really fast and added a couple of my own to give myself some more work to do while I was waiting for the bell to ring. That was probably my favourite apart of the task because we had control over how our slides looked and the lay out. I love doing things like that so I enjoyed that the most.

My hightlight was finishing my maths really fast because it was so easy. I had a lot of fun doing this task and I hope we get to do more activities like this more often. Everything about this task was pretty easy and self explanatory so personally I don’t have a low light. I don’t have anything to work on for this week either as I loved today’s maths lesson and I finished all my work on time. After that I completed the task, and posted it on my blog. I enjoyed this task very much, and I hope to do more like this soon. Hope you enjoyed. Please leave a comment; thank you for visiting my blog.

Word Problems

We are also learning to use equations to express a problem. We have learnt so much about word problems that for this week our task was to create our own set of slides with word problems. I made questions including division, multiplication, addition and subtraction. My hightlight was working with my friend (Swaimah) to create problems of our maths slides and having fun with it. Everything about doing this task was pretty easy and self explanatory so personally I don’t think my lowight is that bad. My lowlight had to be writing word problems because we wants to make it a bit hard but not to hard so we ended up doing really easy questions. After that I completed the task, and posted it on my blog. I enjoyed this task very much, and I hope to do more like this soon. Hope you enjoyed. Fractions and Decimals word problems

Task description: This week during Maths, we are learning to finding the appropriate strategy to solve each word problem and solve problems that involve multiplication and division. We are also learning to use equations to express a problem. They were quick and easy questions/problems to solve the last problem was really easy to me but my friend got so confused by it. She tried for a while but still couldn’t understand it so I helped her out with the last one and showed her how I did it.

It took some time to really think about the prices for her but she worked really hard and ended up finishing her maths. My highlight is helping out my friend with her maths and seeing the smile on her face when she finally finished and blogged it. The maths was really fun for me so I don’t have a lowlight or anything to work on for this week. After that I completed the task, and posted it on my blog. I enjoyed this task very much, and I hope to do more like this soon. Hope you enjoyed. Please leave a comment; thank you for visiting my blog.

Riddle Time

Task description: This week during Maths, we are learning to find the appropriate strategy to solve each word problem, solve problems that involve multiplication and division, and use equations to express a problem. We were also learning to appreciate that tens are nested in hundreds and thousands and use that knowledge to rename whole numbers. We were also looking into renaming the whole numbers to make the addition and subtraction of collections of tens or hundreds easier. It was really easy to do so me and my friend got it done really fast.

My maths group worked on some really easy maths riddles, which I finished really fast. It was really fun and easy for me and my friend, we answered all the questions and showed how we did it. We tried to find out different ways to solve them. It was really fun because all we had to do was just solve the number of questions.

My quote of the day: Mathematics knows no races or geographic boundaries; for mathematics, the cultural world is one country.

It was really easy to complete but the last slide was a bit tricky for me. I was struggling to find the last answer because it kinda didn’t make sense. Even after a lot of hard work to figure it out I couldn’t find out the answer to the last slide. I would like to do more riddles even if it was a bit hard at times.

My highlight was being proud of myself even though I couldn’t answer the last slide because at least I tried my best to completing the last slides. I was struggling with finding the answer as the problem was a bit confusing. My low-light was taking a while finding one little answer to a riddle, but in the end I learn something for me to work one. I’m proud of myself this week for maths and I would like to work more on tasks like these. After that I completed the task, and posted it on my blog. I enjoyed this task very much, and I hope to do more like this soon. Hope you enjoyed. Please leave a comment; thank you for visiting my blog.

Is there a problem?

We tried to find out different ways to solve them. It was really fun because all we had to do was just solve the number of questions. What I had to do was answer 8 word problems and show my working out. After I completed the task I had to post it. These word problems were really easy. Expect the last slide my friend got stuck on and was so confused,  so I had to help her on it. She said “the last slide (8) was really tricky to divide the numbers so I tried my very best to find an answer for the question but I couldn’t” so I helped her out.

My quote of the day: It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with word problems longer

I don’t have a highlight today because I had a writing test today and I wasn’t feeling well at all during it which led me to not be able to think straight or write. My lowlight was having to find out new methods to solve a problem because I usually use the same methods to do my work. Something to work on for this week is finding out new strategies to solve each problem. It was really easy though because most of the questions require division and I’m good at division. After that I completed the task, and I posted it on my blog. I enjoyed this task very much, and I hope to do more like this soon. Hope you enjoyed. The questions were about fruits and how much you’ll get or how much it costs. I really loved this task so much, I’ve learnt so much from this task. Learning new things is really tricky because you don’t get the pattern. My maths group worked on some really easy maths problems, which I finished really fast. It was really fun and easy for me and my friend, we answered all the questions and showed how we did it. We tried to find out different ways to solve them. I had a really good maths session again and I loved how me and my friends shared our ideas with each other so I don’t have a low light from today’s maths lesson. As I said before it was a good maths lesson and I don’t have anything to work on today. After that I completed the task, and I posted it on our blog. Stage 7 – Word Problems

Task description: This week during Maths, we are learning to finding the appropriate strategy to solve each word problem, solve problems that involve multiplication and division, and use equations to express a problem. My maths group worked on some stage 7 word problems. It was really fun and easy for me but my friend said it was really confusing and hard at first but I answered all the questions and showed her how I did it and that helped her a lot and she started to try and find out ways to solve them.

She was really close to giving up but I told her “Maths can sometimes be really tricky, but that doesn’t mean you give up, what I mean by this is you gotta give it a couple tries before being perfect at it and it can takes some time to solve it but the more you try the closer you’ll get,” and that seem to help her a lot which was kinda my highlight for me maths today. One thing I really love about today’s maths work is that you get to make your own question that you can give to your friends to try and figure out.

My highlight was being able to solve all the problems really fast even though my friend was stuck on it for a bit.
